It's my birthday!

Another year older today then.
I don't like birthdays ever since I made it into the 36-40 box on forms :)

Well, 15 days into the diet and I've lost just over 3kg. I'm well happy with that. It should be pretty much bang on course when you take into account the extra loss you get when you first start. Either way, it gets me 1/10th of the way to my goal so I think its a good start.

I don't think the chocolate birthday cake I've just made will help though. I'm sure I can have just one wafer thin slice on my birthday can't I?

Nearly 2 weeks in

So, nearly 2 weeks into it (12 days) and I've lost 2.5kg :)
Could maybe have been better but was mainly desk bound and super busy for the latter half of the week and was also a little over my calorie allowance each day. All the same, I'm pretty happy with that.
I hate the snow though. Having had injuries to both knees and one of my ankles I get nervous when it's slippery. I'll be glad when it's gone.

Weight loss progress

Woohoo!
Well I've lost a kilogram in a week :)
I'm happy with that. I've been under my calorie goal every day except for one and actually been getting my 5 a day every day. I feel better for it already!
Now, the tricky part will be in a couple of weeks. I've always given up at that point before and this time it coincides with going away to a conference where I get fed and can eat what I like. That will not be easy.

2013 - time to get real?

So, its 2013. I've had to admit to myself that I really must lose some weight. Ok, ok, lots of weight.
As such I've decided to cut my calorie intake to a maximum of 1800 calories a day with an ideal of keeping it under 1600. I've also started to walk a lot more and intend to get on my bike and in the pool when time allows.
I started on Monday and so far so good. I've managed my goal every day so far and I feel much better for it. I reckon I've dropped about 1.5lbs so far but everyone knows the first couple of weeks always sees the best losses.
I think I should aim at losing about 5 stone. Its a long term goal so I think 3 stone this year and 2 stone in 2014 should be more than achievable.
I guess now its more a matter of willpower than anything else. At the moment its difficult to think about anything other than food!

So, wish me luck! I'm going to need it!
